Bob Mould will release ‘Silver Age,’ his first album of all new studio material since 2009's ‘Life And Times,’ September 4 on Merge.

The new record features Bob's current band--drummer Jon Wurster (Superchunk, the Mountain Goats) and bassist Jason Narducy (Split Single, Verbow)--on 10 brand new Mould compositions in the punishingly loud melodically sparkling pop/rock vein of the Sugar catalogue which was reissued via Merge on July 24.

Where the current run of Bob Mould Plays ‘Copper Blue dates’ commemorates the 20th anniversary of the 1992 release of Sugar's debut ‘Copper Blue’ with Bob and the band playing that record in its entirety, Bob's fall dates supporting Silver Age will be more elaborate affairs: ‘Copper Blue’ will still be played front to back, however an additional set and encores mixing the new ‘Silver Age material with Husker Du, Sugar and Mould solo classics will complete the evening. In addition to the previously announced Copper Blue/Silver Age tour dates in the fall, Bob has also announced a date at the historic El Rey Theatre in Los Angeles on October 30.

Pre-order Silver Age now on CD or LP in the Merge store and receive a limited-edition patch featuring artwork from the album. Pre-orders will ship to arrive on or around the September 4 release date.
