When Dave Matthews Band invited fans to take part in the creation of a video for its latest single, "Mercy," 14,334 responded, submitting original photos and videos.

Those who contributed to the process - echoing and enhancing the song's call for unity and action - were rewarded with an early look at the resulting clip, directed by James Frost (Radiohead, OK Go), before it premiered yesterday on Vevo. The "Mercy" video can be seen below.

"Mercy," the first single from Dave Matthews Band's forthcoming album, Away From The World, topped the Triple A radio charts for two consecutive weeks and is available now at all digital retailers.

Scheduled for release on September 11 by RCA Records, Away From The World was hailed by Rolling Stone as the band's "strongest album in years."Billboard praised it as "sometimes heart-rending, often seismic, always ambitious...[Matthews] showcases some of his most stirring, vulnerable vocals and lyrics to date."
