Public Image LTD are currently wrapping up their first U.S. tour since their 2010 reunion trek which kicked off at Coachella. In his live show review for Rolling Stone.com, Steve Appleford praised the iconic British group’s Los Angeles (Sunday, October 28, Club Nokia).

“The piercing sound of John Lydon's voice is still like no other. During Public Image Ltd.'s two-hour concert at Club Nokia in Los Angeles on Sunday night, he sang with a mixture of biting antagonism and real vulnerability, filling the theater with a fiery wail and compelling new songs from the reunited post-punk originators.” Read the full Rolling Stone review here: http://www.rollingstone.com/music/news/public-image-ltd-lead-a-fiery-sermon-in-los-angeles-20121029

The night before the Los Angeles show, the PiL frontman John Lydon regaled 3,000 party-goers with his first DJ set in over 15 years at tastemaker Los Angeles station KCRW’s Halloween Masquerade Party which took place Saturday, October 27 at Park Plaza Hotel in downtown Los Angeles (see JOHN LYDON’s full DJ set list below).

The potent and eclectic PUBLIC IMAGE LTD line-up featuring JOHN LYDON (vocals), LU EDMONDS (guitar), SCOTT FIRTH (bass) and BRUCE SMITH (drums) continues to garner rave reviews for their epic, not-to-be-missed live sets. In a recent live review, Andrew Youssef of Stereogum was impressed by the “…a razor-sharp fifteen song set of his art-damaged punk.” (October 30, 2012). Elsewhere, Chris Young of the Orange County Register added, “Lydon, one of the more compelling singers in rock history, was a fireball of energy and hyper-kinetic movements as the synthesizer stabs of ‘This Is Not a Love Song’ kicked off the main set. ’Flowers of Romance’ was slinky and silky at the same time, with Scott Firth masterfully working over a stand-up bass for the hypnotizing groove. Playing out like a tribal romp, ‘Warrior’ inspired Lydon to stomp all over the stage, his voice razor-sharp and seething with bile.” (October 31, 2012) PiL recently stopped at NPR affiliate The Current. Watch the group’s live performance of “Reggie Song” off their new album THIS IS PIL on NPR.

Up next, PUBLIC IMAGE LTD are wrapping up their headlining North American trek with shows in Houston, TX tonight Friday, November 2 and the Fun Fun Fun Fest on Saturday, November 3 in Austin, TX. One in-store appearance for JOHN LYDON remains on Saturday, Nov 3 at the Fun Fun Fun Fest-Waterloo Records Tent in Austin 4:00pm (Auditorium Shores, 920 W. Riverside Dr.).

The group--described as “a musical force taking a jackhammer to pop music’s boundaries” (Phil Gallo, BILLBOARD, 5/19/12)--are touring in support of their new album, THIS IS PiL. It was released May 29 this year via their own PiL Official label, with distribution through Redeye in the U.S. and Cargo in the U.K. and has generated overwhelmingly positive reviews from critics. Edward Kruty of Reuters called the band’s first album of new music in 20 years "...a sprawling, hour-long musical journey that both evokes the PiL of old and pushes into new territory. A mixture of big, bassy, fast-moving tracks, some slower guitar pieces and Lydon's at times-unaccompanied voice, This is PiL has an epic album feel without being overblown” (October 18, 2012). THIS IS PIL features standout new tracks such as “Deeper Water,” “Lollipop Opera,” “One Drop” and “Out of the Woods.” On October 1, a new AA side single titled “Out Of The Woods/Reggie Song” was released in CD, digital and as a special 12 inch Vinyl.
