Punk icons the Misfits return with their long-awaited, first proper live album since the 1980’s. In celebration of the release this Tuesday, the Misfits are sharing the full stream of 'DEA.D. ALIVE!' today on Rolling Stone. Rooted in the horror and sci-fi themes their audience craves, 'DEA.D. ALIVE!' will be released February 5th on Misfits Records. It features 14 tracks, including a cover of “Science Fiction/Double Feature” from the Rocky Horror Picture Show, captured in their All Hallows’ Eve performance in Times Square, New York City, and including select tracks from the band’s encore set at their hometown show in NJ.
The album is available on CD and limited edition 12” vinyl + mp3 card, with the first pressing on Solid Gold vinyl (limited to 1,500 pieces).
The Misfits: Jerry Only, Dez Cadena & Eric “Chupacabra” Acre will also be appearing at the legendary comic book haven, Forbidden Planet NYC, on February 6th at 7pm for a meet & greet, as well as album signing, alongside John Cafiero of Osaka Popstar. That Saturday, February 9th, The Misfits and Osaka Popstar will be heading to Fords, NJ for another signing at Vintage Vinyl, starting at 4pm.
The diverse set of modern day Misfits classics included on DEA.D. ALIVE! range from current hits like “Land of the Dead” and “Curse of the Mummy’s Hand”, on through all-new live versions of earlier-era material like “Scream!”, “Dig Up Her Bones”, “Helena” and more—recorded live, with a level of precision and intensity garnered in over three decades of horror business.
