To celebrate the production of the documentary film “Salad Days: The Birth of Punk in the Nations Capital,” a who’s who of DC punk bands from the 1980s will convene at the Black Cat on December 28 and 29, 2012. The lineup includes Kingface, Black Market Baby, Dag Nasty (December 28th), Scream, Government Issue and Youth Brigade (December 29).

Girl in a Coma’s cover of “Walking After Midnight” soundtracks a new brand film also titled “Walking After Midnight” for luxury shoe brand Stuart Weitzman directed by James Franco, which stars model Petra Němcová. Franco drew inspiration for the campaign from the 1989 cult classic film Mondo New York.

My Morning Jacket will take the stage of the historic Capitol Theater in Port Chester, NY for three consecutive nights in continuation of their Spontaneous Curation Series. To keep with the spirit of the series, no songs will repeat for each of these performances. The renowned landmark, built in 1926, once housed acts such as The Grateful Dead (18 years in a one-year span from 1970-1971), Pink Floyd, Rolling Stones, David Bowie, The Dead, among others and was was recently re-opened this past year. In conjunction with each night of the show, every Capitol Theater ticket buyer will receive a complimetnary download which will be delivered shortly after each performance.
Norwegian rockers Ungdomskulen have approached their musical career with the intention of setting no restrictions for themselves, and it certainly shows. While the trio has influences in experimental rock and pop, their progressive sound is something all their own. A result of the intimacy and unbreakable bond built from weeks spent together on the road, the band’s fourth studio album, 'Secrecy,' will be released Sept. 25 on Datarock’s own YAP Records.
