As the Smashing Pumpkins prepare for their U.S. fall arena tour launching October 10 at the Comcast Arena in Everett, WA, their new single “Panopticon” has just arrived at radio.

This standout track from their acclaimed album 'Oceania' caught the attention of critics upon the album’s release (see below) and the band’s singer/guitarist Billy Corgan talked about the song’s origins with Music Radar:

The U.S. leg of the 'Oceania' worldwide tour includes stops in Los Angeles October 14, Chicago October 19 and New York City October 31. The U.S. tour will wrap November 4 in Connecticut. Joining the Pumpkins--singer/guitarist Billy Corgan, guitarist Jeff Schroeder, drummer Mike Byrne and bassist Nicole Fiorentino--on the first half through October 20 are Florida rock outfit Anberlin. On October 23, in Detroit, Michigan, Morning Parade will join the Pumpkins for the remainder of the tour.

At the upcoming arena shows, the Pumpkins will perform 'Oceania' in full and for the second half of the show they’ll play classics and deep cuts from their body of work. The Pumpkins will be backed by visuals prepared by Sean Evans, whose most recent project was assisting Roger Waters on the newest staging of “The Wall.” The Pumpkins will be using new technology in video-mapping to create something new and previously unseen.
