White Arms of Athena Announce Tour Dates

Dallas progressive/tech-metal act White Arms of Athena have announced an upcoming trek of tour dates, which will focus primarily on the Western U.S. The run begins Oct. 16 in Oklahoma City, Okla., and will see the band perform alongside Picture It In Ruins and Arsonists Get All The Girls. The band commented as follows: "We are totally stoned for the upcoming tour with our best buds in Picture It In Ruins! We'll be playing some different material this go around. A few cities will hear new material and others will hear better versions of an old song or two from the demo days. White Arms of Athena's debut full-length "Astrodrama" was praised by Metal Hammer for its "subtlety and diversity." The album, recorded by Jamie King (Between the Buried and Me, The Human Abstract), delicately combines a mixture of headbanging riffs with ambient passages timed perfectly to soothe you before hitting you with an even heavier attack. Decibel hailed their musicianship, stating, "These guys have the polished chops of lifelong shredders and a compostional sensibility that many older progressive metal musicians would gladly sell their ponytails to attain."
